Many Futures is a personalised strategic briefing service. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about what we collect and why. This policy explains how we handle your data.
Many Futures is operated by Tiernan Haugh, trading as Many Futures.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our supervisory authority is the Irish Data Protection Commission.
We only collect data that is necessary to deliver the service or improve it. Here is what we collect and the legal basis for each:
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email (via Google sign-in) | Create and manage your account | Contract performance |
| Profile context (job title, company, interests) | Personalise your briefings — this is the core of the service | Contract performance |
| Profile context sent to AI provider | Generate your personalised briefings | Contract performance |
| Name, email, briefing content | Deliver briefings to your inbox | Contract performance |
| Usage data and device information | Understand how the product is used and improve it | Legitimate interests |
| Marketing communications | Product updates and news (only if you opt in) | Consent |
Legitimate interests detail: We use product analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the service. We have assessed that this processing is necessary for our legitimate interests and does not override your rights. You can object to this processing at any time by contacting us.
Many Futures uses AI language models to generate your briefings. Your profile context (e.g. name, job title, company, and interests) is sent to our AI provider to create briefings personalised to you.
This is integral to delivering the service — personalised briefings are the product. Without your context, we cannot generate relevant content for you.
What this is not: The AI generates informational content based on your profile. It does not make decisions about you or produce outputs that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. This does not constitute automated decision-making under GDPR Article 22.
Our current AI provider is Anthropic, whose API terms prohibit using your data to train their models. The specific provider may change over time — we will maintain equivalent data protection standards and update this policy accordingly. Future providers may have different training policies, which we will disclose with notice.
We use third-party services to operate Many Futures. Here is who processes your data and why:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared | Location | Safeguard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication | Name, email | US | SCCs / EU-US DPF |
| Supabase | Database | Profile data, briefings | EU (Frankfurt) | EU-hosted |
| Anthropic* | AI briefing generation | Profile context | US | SCCs via DPA |
| Resend | Email delivery | Name, email, briefings | US | SCCs / EU-US DPF |
| PostHog | Product analytics | Usage data | EU (Frankfurt) | EU-hosted |
| Railway | Application hosting | Processing data in transit | US | SCCs / EU-US DPF |
* Currently Anthropic. The AI provider may change with notice. We will update this table and notify you of any changes.
Payments: Paddle.com processes your payment data as an independent data controller — not as our sub-processor. Their own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.
We use Google OAuth for authentication. When you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email address. We do not receive or store your Google password. This data is used solely for account creation and management. We do not sell data obtained via Google APIs or use it for advertising.
Some of our service providers are based in the United States. For these transfers, we rely on:
Our database (Supabase) and analytics (PostHog) are stored in EU regions (Frankfurt). Cross-border access for support or maintenance may occur under the same SCC/DPF safeguards described above.
Under GDPR, you have the following rights. To exercise any of them, email privacy@manyfutures.ai. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first at privacy@manyfutures.ai and we will do our best to resolve the issue.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission:
We use PostHog for product analytics, hosted in the EU. PostHog may set cookies to track usage patterns across sessions. These cookies are not strictly necessary for the service to function.
We are working to implement a consent mechanism for non-essential cookies. In the meantime, if you do not wish to be tracked, you can block cookies in your browser settings or contact us to opt out of analytics processing.
We do not use advertising trackers, sell your data, or share it with advertising networks.
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
